Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn officially confirmed!
Garcia defends his WBC title against Benn on Sept. 12.

The fight between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn is now officially on!
Ryan Garcia will be defending his WBC welterweight title for the first time against Conor Benn, who has been challenging him for quite some time. Oscar De La Hoya and Dana White have finally confirmed this fight, and they themselves consider it a top-tier matchup.
“This is such a great fight, these guys are in their prime, and it’s a fight they’ve both wanted for a long time’’
said Dana White.
Ryan Garcia won the WBC title in February, and now faces the challenge of defending it. He’s on a good run right now, since his last real loss was quite a while ago.
For Conor Benn, this is the first world title shot of his career. As the No. 1 contender in the WBC rankings, he’s getting the title shot even though he hasn’t made the welterweight limit of 147 pounds in a long time. That means making weight will be a major issue.
Finding an opponent for Ryan Garcia wasn’t easy for a long time. There were many issues between the promotions, as well as regarding broadcast rights. Now, finally, all parties have reached an agreement, and we can look forward to a very exciting showdown. Ryan Garcia already called Conor Benn his “dream opponent” back in May, and has now received confirmation. Both fighters are at a very good point in their careers and will be giving it their all to win this top-tier bout. It remains to be seen who will come out on top in the end.
A mega fight awaits us here! I’m so excited for this matchup because both fighters are in their prime right now, and I think it’ll be a battle between equals. I can’t say yet who I personally see as the favorite, that will become clear from training updates and interviews. Who do you think will win this fight?
