Sean Strickland hints at Imavov rematch

Pay talks are reportedly the final hurdle before the fight is made official

Sean Strickland hints at Imavov rematch

Sean Strickland says a rematch with Nassourdine Imavov is just around the corner and will be made official very soon.

For some time now, there have been rumors about who will compete in the next UFC middleweight title fight. Sean Strickland and Nassourdine Imavov could indeed face off again. Since the annual numbered December event still doesn’t have a main event, the two of them will likely be the ones chosen for it. According to Sean Strickland, negotiations regarding the pay are currently underway before the fight is finally made official. At the same time, though, he’s naturally still taking shots at Nassourdine Imavov and questioning how bright his future actually is.

“We're discussing pay now. Once that detail is squared away, it's locked in. The issue is no one cares about the fake Frenchman. We're almost there”

he said.

Sean Strickland scored a stunning victory over Khamzat Chimaev in June, securing his second UFC title. Nassourdine Imavov and the current titleholder actually faced off once before in 2023, when he lost to Sean Strickland. Since then, however, he’s racked up five wins, which have earned him another shot at the title. It could be a very exciting matchup and certainly top the first one. Who do you think will come out on top?

I just hope it’s an exciting matchup. I can’t pick a winner just yet, but I’m really looking forward to the interviews and training insights leading up to the fight.
