Shakur accepts Haney’s 145-pound catchweight
Stevenson agrees to Haney’s proposed weight as hydration terms remain unclear

Shakur Stevenson has publicly accepted the 145-pound catchweight proposed by Devin Haney, and negotiations continue to move forward. The only question that remains is what the situation is regarding a hydration clause, or whether he has rejected it. Shakur Stevenson simply wrote:
"145.0 U GOT A DEAL DEEHOE!!!!“
This brings the negotiations to a point where we can be relatively certain that the two will face off. They have now agreed on a weight; the only uncertainty is whether they will be allowed to gain weight again after the weigh-in, which could still become a point of contention. If Shakur Stevenson has fully accepted Devin Haney ’s proposal, that would mean both fighters want to gain weight again after the weigh-in as they see fit, which would be an advantage for Devin Haney. Shakur Stevenson could also use his agreement on the weight as a bargaining chip, since he’s already accepted a demand and now wants to get his own demand met. It’ll be interesting to see what the two ultimately agree on, since a fight is now actually relatively likely. So far, however, there’s neither a contract nor a scheduled date. What do you think?
I’m really curious to see what’s in store for us here. I think the two will almost certainly face off, but I can imagine there will be more disputes over the hydration clause. What do you think?
