The Rivalry Isn't Over: Ryan Garcia Calls Out Devin Haney Again

After years of rivalry, a controversial first fight, and fresh comments from both sides, the boxing world is once again talking about Haney vs. Garcia 2.

The Rivalry Isn't Over: Ryan Garcia Calls Out Devin Haney Again

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia can’t seem to leave each other alone, but why is that? Their rivalry began back in their youth. As amateurs, they faced off a total of six times, with each winning three fights. That’s why their professional bout in April 2024 was dubbed “This One Counts”, so there would finally be a clear winner. However, that dream remained unfulfilled. Ryan Garcia did win the fight, but the victory was stripped shortly afterward due to a positive drug test. So the question remains: who would have won the fight without that interference? That’s why many are eagerly anticipating a possible rematch.

In late 2025, shortly before Devin Haney fought Brian Norman Jr., Devin Haney said:

“After Brian Norman, you guys know who is next!”

But that doesn't seem to be the case for now, since Devin Haney has his sights set on a few other fights right now. Still, their situation remains exciting, especially because neither of them can leave the other alone. On Friday, Ryan Garcia posted on X

“Devin, I’m waiting”

Devin Haney replied:

"What u wating on?"

It remains to be seen whether these statement will trigger further developments. The fact remains, however, that the two have long been rivals and want to settle this once and for all.

Personally, I hope this fight happens. A showdown that’s been building for a long time is always more exciting than a regular fight, which is why I really want to see it. I think we’ll have to wait a little while longer for the fight, but I believe it will happen eventually.
