Tom Aspinall denies plans to leave the UFC
Tom Aspinall has denied reports that he wants to leave the UFC.

Tom Aspinall responded to comments made by one of his coaches, who claimed that Tom Aspinall would like to leave the UFC, but of course that’s not true.
Tom Aspinall hasn’t competed in the Octagon since October 2025, as he suffered a serious eye injury there when he faced Ciryl Gane. The fight was ruled a no-contest, and Tom Aspinall remained the reigning champion.
It’s been almost a year since that fight, and Tom Aspinall still hasn’t booked a fight. This has led to widespread speculation that he might want to leave the UFC, especially since his new promoter, Eddie Hearn, doesn’t have a good relationship with Dana White. However, these rumors really took off when Tom Aspinall’s boxing trainer, Stipe Drvis, claimed that he would like to leave the UFC. In response, Tom Aspinall posted an official statement on his X account.
“I’m not leaving the UFC. I’ve never said I have in any interview and any words that have been taken from others today are simply not true. We are talking with the UFC daily and they will update you guys always”
he wrote.
When he comes back, though, his schedule is actually already pretty predictable. After Ciryl Gane secured a rematch with his victory over Alex Pereira at the UFC Freedom 250 event, he’ll be the one facing Tom Aspinall again. So it probably won’t be long before the heavyweight division finally has an active title fight again. We can only look forward to it.
I hope Tom Aspinall finally makes his return and that a fight is announced soon. It would be a super exciting matchup, especially since the first fight was so close. I’m really curious to see when this fight will take place.
