Tom Aspinall returns to full training as Ciryl Gane rematch draws closer
The UFC heavyweight champion is back in full training after months out, with negotiations underway for a rematch against interim champion Ciryl Gane

UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is back in training after a long hiatus. After landing a very unfortunate blow to his eye last October, the fight had to be ruled a no contest, and he stepped away from competition while recovering. Now, however, he is back in training and preparing for his next fight.
"Back in full training for the Ciryl Gane fight, and we're currently in talks with the UFC,"
he posted on X.
His opponent will most likely be Ciryl Gane again, who won the interim championship title in his absence. To make that title official, he’ll have to fight Tom Aspinall , and he seems to be on board with that as well.
A rematch would likely take place sometime between September and October. Fans had actually been hoping for early September, but Tom Aspinall is currently in a 12-week training camp, which won’t end until September. That’s why we’ll probably see a fight in late September or early October. The good news, though, is that things are finally happening again in the heavyweight division. With Tom Aspinall’s injury, the division had been on hold for quite some time, but now things are finally getting back on track.
I'm really looking forward to Tom Aspinall's comeback, especially if it leads straight to a rematch with Ciryl Gane. The two of them have unfinished business, and they'll certainly take the fight very seriously. That's exactly what I'd be looking forward to. I hope Tom Aspinall has a successful training camp ahead of him and makes a strong comeback.
