Tsarukyan has personal reason to finish Ruffy quickly

Arman Tsarukyan wants to finish Mauricio Ruffy quickly at UFC 331 for a personal reason.

At the UFC 331 event, Arman Tsarukyan will have the chance in the co-main event to solidify his position as the No. 1 contender in the lightweight division once and for all. He’ll face the current Mauricio Ruffy, who is in pretty good form. However, Arman Tsarukyan has now explained in an interview why he wants to end the fight relatively quickly, for a personal reason.

“I don’t need 25 minutes, I’m going there (to) make (the) job easy and quick. So, because my dad back at home… I don’t want him to be nervous, you know, (by the fight being) so long. I want to make it as soon as possible and quick”

he said in an interview with Paramount.

Arman Tsarukyan has never really been taken seriously enough in the past to get a title shot. Dana White has often expressed his reservations about him, but if he beats Mauricio Ruffy, he’ll really have no choice but to grant him one.

Arman Tsarukyan definitely has the skills to win the fight, and in the way he wants to, but it could be very difficult against Mauricio Ruffy. He’s one of the most dynamic fighters in the division and is convinced he’s on the verge of a title shot.

So it’s going to be a hard-fought battle, where the next step is truly on the line for both fighters.

Personally, I think the reason he wants to end the fight quickly is really cool. However, I’m not really convinced it’ll happen. I think it’ll be a very evenly matched fight that goes into the later rounds. What do you think?
