Turki Alalshikh Calls for Historic Boxing Summit to End Promotional Wars

Saudi boxing figure wants Dana White, Eddie Hearn, Frank Warren and others at one table to unify the fractured sport

On Friday, Turki Alalshikh put forward a highly debated proposal. He wants all the major figures in boxing to sit down together at the table and finally resolve the long-standing dispute between promoters so that the sport can move forward properly again.There are simply too many differing interests among the promoters, which leads to conflicts. Furthermore, it would be extremely complicated to satisfy everyone when it comes to money and power. Nevertheless, he wants to bring together Dana White, Nick Khan, Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn, and several representatives from DAZN so they can finally work together.

Alalshikh said. Such a collaboration could be revolutionary and lead to many interesting matches that previously seemed impossible. However, many seem to view the idea differently. On the one hand, there are doubts that such a meeting would achieve anything, and on the other hand, there is concern that political influence on the sport would only increase following a possible collaboration. Alalshikh, however, seems to be obsessed with the idea.

The mention of white smoke is a clear allusion to the election of the new pope. This finally makes it clear what kind of mindset he is bringing to the project.

It remains to be seen whether this meeting will actually take place in the end, but the outcome would certainly be very interesting.

On the one hand, it would of course be very interesting to see what a collaboration like this could achieve; on the other hand, it could also lead to significantly more controversy in the sport.
