Tyson Fury risks underestimating Anthony Joshua
Fury calls Joshua an aging contender, but his own recent performances raise questions ahead of their December 11 clash.

The long-awaited mega-fight on December 11 between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could be the last big payday for both of them. A brutal knockout could spell the end of a long career for either of them, even if one of them still severely underestimates the other. Tyson Fury, in fact, portrays only his opponent as an aging contender and talks about his own plans to keep boxing for years to come.
"At the end of his career now he wants a final payday. I’ll give it to him, no problem“
he said to Anthony Joshua.
However, he’s forgetting that a hard punch from Anthony Joshua could put an immediate end to those plans. In his most recent bouts, Tyson Fury has already started to show signs of weakness, which is likely due to his age. To still assume that only his longtime rival is slowly getting older while he himself is still in peak condition is either blind or simply satire. Anthony Joshua has, of course, shown exactly the same issues in his recent bouts, but his ability to take a punch and his hard punches are still there. Tyson Fury is, of course, doing this for tactical reasons as well, since he’s trying to undermine his opponent’s motivation early on. However, he mustn’t forget that these are really just tactical reasons and he shouldn’t actually see it that way, because otherwise he could get absolutely crushed after the fight. What do you think?
