Tyson Fury's thoughts on possible future fights

Fury says he only sees value in mega-fights as he focuses on a potential Anthony Joshua showdown and dismisses younger contenders as “not worth it” without major stakes.

It seems to be getting harder and harder to find an opponent for Tyson Fury. With the plan for the mega-fight against Anthony Joshua in place, Tyson Fury doesn’t seem to be seriously considering any other fights, as he doesn’t see the point in them. For example, when asked if he could imagine fighting Moses Itauma, he replied that he doesn’t see the point in fighting a “kid.”

“Nothing (to fight for) but, obviously, money. Show me the money and I’ll do the job. But at the end of the day, if there’s not big money involved, what’s the point? He doesn’t have a belt, doesn’t have nothing, what it is it? What’s it for?

he said. He then added:

“I’ve proved meself when I was 20, I proved meself (at) 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, fucking 37, 38, still proving meself. I don’t need to fight fucking kids. You know what I mean? Listen, Moses is a good kid, great boxer, everything, brilliant. But unless it’s going to be big money, why would I want to fight Moses for fuck all?”

This shows that he definitely respects Moses Itauma , but at his age, he simply needs a reason, like a title or a lot of money, to accept an fight offer.

However, this attitude could also influence his opinion on a fight with Agit Kabayel. Most recently, he completely rejected the idea, but assuming Agit Kabayel really does fight Oleksandr Usyk and wins, it could become interesting for Tyson Fury to consider a fight again. In his case and Agit Kabayel’s, it’s also very understandable, since they used to train together back then, and you don’t necessarily fight a former friend for no reason—and that should be respected.

Personally, I'd just love to see Tyson Fury fight a few more times. I don't think you can really criticize him for fighting for a lot of money, since most of us would do the same. Hopefully he'll find an opponent who would make a fight worthwhile for him, too.
