UFC 330: Neal vs. Njokuani – Two Fighters Under Pressure in the Welterweight Division

A welterweight fight between Geoff Neal and Chidi Njokuani has been added to the undercard of the UFC 330 event.

The 35-year-old Geoff Neal enters the fight with a poor record over the past three years, having lost four of his five fights during that time. This losing streak began in 2023 with, among other losses, a defeat against Ian Machado Garry. Later in 2024, Geoff Neal did win a first-round TKO victory over Rafael dos Anjos, but that win came about due to his opponent’s knee injury.

Since then, Geoff Neal has suffered two more first-round knockout losses, including a knockout after 89 seconds at the hands of Uros Medic.

Now, Geoff Neal faces 37-year-old Chidi Njokuani. Not too long ago, Chidi Njokuani was on a three-fight winning streak, but he has since suffered two consecutive losses.

So this is a fight where both fighters are looking to kick off a new winning streak. This could make for an exciting matchup that might offer a little preview of the main event between Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry.

Since both fighters are currently coming off somewhat disappointing records, I think this fight could be very exciting. For both of them, it’s partly about getting their careers back on track, and that’s worth a lot. It remains to be seen who will ultimately win and rebuild their record, but I don’t think we should underestimate this fight.
