Wardley confident he’ll finish Dubois in rematch
Wardley expects an early finish against Dubois

Four months ago, after the first three rounds of his spectacular slugfest with Daniel Dubois, Fabio Wardley was seen by many as a victim of his own success.
The former WBO heavyweight world champion had already sent Daniel Dubois to the canvas once after just 10 seconds. Fabio Wardley was unstoppable in the early rounds, and it looked as though a knockout was just around the corner. But at some point, Daniel Dubois began a spectacular comeback that ultimately earned him his second world title. He weathered Fabio Wardley ’s intense pressure in the early stages and demonstrated remarkable resilience. Although Fabio Wardley subsequently respected his opponent’s performance, he attributed this defeat primarily to himself and his own mistakes. He was very self-critical, as he knows full well that he left far too much room for hard punches after the first few rounds. Hopefully, he’ll have learned from these mistakes by now, since the two are set to face off again on October 17. He plans to shake up Daniel Dubois early on once more, but this time he’s confident he’ll finish the fight.
“Yeah, look, I’ve not made a career out of going to points. I’ve made a career out of finishing fights before the bell, not needing judges. And I had it done almost in the first round of our first fight, almost in the third round of our fight. So we're gonna go back to the drawing board, pick apart those moments, pick apart you stylistically, what worked, what didn’t work, and within the first quarter of the fight you’ll be gone, you’ll be outta there”
he said.
We can only hope that the rematch turns out just like the bout four months ago. That one was incredible. Do you think we’ll see another showdown like that?
I do think it’ll be a close fight again, but it won’t be as intense as last time. I think the fight will be over much sooner this time, but I can’t say yet who will ultimately come out on top.
