Wardley takes full responsibility for Dubois defeat
The British heavyweight refuses to make excuses after his second-round TKO loss.

Fabio Wardley doesn’t want to blame his second-round TKO loss to Daniel Dubois on any external circumstances; instead, he takes full responsibility. Compared to their first bout, their second fight ended very early; it took just two rounds to determine a winner. Daniel Dubois was ultimately the one who got to raise his hand, leaving his opponent, who had entered the bout with high expectations and had made significant adjustments, in the shadows. Before the fight, Fabio Wardley had announced that he would approach the bout completely differently and that he had made many adjustments. None of that was evident, though the reason is quite obvious:
“I didn’t execute the game plan properly tonight. That was all. I hold my hands up to that. It’s entirely down to me. When I step through the ropes, it’s only myself. It’s only me and me bouncing around in the ring and doing everything. There’s no blame to be passed around”
he said.
But it’s worth noting that he was hit pretty hard by Daniel Dubois just a few seconds later, and that likely caused some damage. After that, he didn’t do much, which is reflected in the result. Still, it’s not the end of the world. Fabio Wardley is still young and can take a well-deserved break for now before he comes back. He can beat himself up about it, but he shouldn’t let it drag him down right now.
