what happens to Usyk's world titles now?

Oleksandr Usyk vacated three heavyweight world titles, leaving Agit Kabayel crowned by the WBC while the IBF and WBA belts await new champions.

what happens to Usyk's world titles now?

Oleksandr Usyk announced last weekend that he's giving up his three titles, but what will happen to them now?

WBC Title

The WBC has named the interim champion the official champion. Agit Kabayel now holds the belt, and his task is to defend it. Agit Kabayel remains undefeated and has tried several times to organize a fight; he has now been rewarded for his efforts. A major home title defense in Germany is considered likely, but an opponent has not yet been determined.

IBF Title

The IBF recently held a fight between Frank Sánchez and Richard Torrez Jr., which Frank Sánchez won. He is now the No. 1 contender, but the problem is that there is currently no No. 2. Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgović are ranked No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, and they will face each other in August. Many consider a potential fight between them for the vacant title to be a logical next step.

WBA Title

Here, too, the situation is still up in the air. A fight between Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgović would also be ideal for the vacant title. However, Murat Gassiev holds a version of the WBA title, though he is not automatically promoted to the status of main champion. Since the WBA recognizes two titleholders simultaneously: a regular champion and a super champion. The option involving Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgović would be possible.

As you can see, the situation regarding the titles is still relatively complicated. However, the expectation is that a solution for the IBF and WBA titles will be found in the coming weeks or months.

Oleksandr Usyk has put the boxing world in a very interesting position. This opens up many new opportunities and brings a breath of fresh air, which I don't think is a bad thing at all. I'm looking forward to the title fights, as there are some very strong contenders in the mix.
